COMMUNITY PROJECTS

None of this work happens alone. We are not just dreaming new worlds and futures, we are building them. We are weaving our liberation together with care, intention and love.

ACADEMIC RESEARCH TO GRASSROOTS APPLICATION

Read papers based off of this data, including A Place for Herbal Abortion in Clinical Herbalism published in the Journal of the American Herbalist Guild

Guess what, we did a thing! We made the research everyone said doesn’t exist. We’ve been working on a Community-Based Participatory Research project centering community-led abortion providers in Canada and the United States since 2018. We got data on various methods used in non-clinical abortions, not just self-managed with medication.

Patreon Shorts: Conversations with Community

We all know the algorithm is finicky, especially when the topic has some political charge to it. It is vital to knowledge sharing and community resiliency and growth that we build and connect OFF instagram (and others).

We are building a library of conversations with experts in various aspects of abortion, herbalism, medicine making and reproductive justice.

Right now, today, there are already a few exclusive posts, classes and posters available, plus new members get a starter abortion zine library depending on the tier.

Monthly conversations are getting booked for 2023! Join Now!

Holistic Abortion Guide

In 2016, the Holistic Abortion Guide: An Overview of Terminating Pregnancy in a Non-Clinical Paradigm (HAG) was compiled by leadership from Holistic Abortions in collaboration with community and clinical abortion providers to provide accurate and accessible information on client-centered abortion provision without medical oversight. This guide was a compendium of critical information ranging from the historical context of abortion, personal stories, legal considerations, self-managed, and/or supported non-clinical home abortion methods, informed by evidence-based protocols along with ancient knowledge, collections of research and story, and community-led practices and reflections.

The HAG resource proved to be an invaluable tool for increasing knowledge and skills within communities who did not have access to or preferred to stay out of clinical settings. So much has changed in five years, and while there is certainly more information widely available, particularly when discussing ‘self-managed abortion’ we seek to keep the voices and expertise of the community centered and valued.

We are seeking financial and publishing support for this resource to be updated and distributed. If you or your organization are interested in donating, sharing grant writing skills, or potential funding opportunities, please email.
